We are having been taking advantage of our church's Saturday night services this summer, so Sunday we had a full day to have some fun. It was supposed to be really hot in the valley, so we headed out to the mountains between us and Santa Cruz for some cooler temperatures. We started our day in Big Basin, a state park with great hiking through Redwood Forests. We did a short 3.5 mile hike to a small water.

Breaking in the double stroller
Made it to the waterfall
We were expecting something a little more spectacular :)
After our hike, we headed to Santa Cruz for lunch at our favorite design your own pasta restaurant. Emma loves this restaurant because they give her pizza dough to play with. We filled our bellies and headed off to another adventure....
A trip up Bear Mountain on a steam engine railroad
Our train
The conductor collects our tickets
The whole family... well at the the back of Ian's head :)
At the top of the mountain, we collected a Wells Fargo shipment...
and the train got held up
Luckily we got away with all our belongings and headed back down the mountain
The engine let off a little steam
Emma brought her binoculars to watch out for bears
