Pumpkin Patch 2008

We took advantage of Saturday night church last night so that we could get up bright and early and head into the country to the Pumpkin Patch. Emma wanted to find a "Little Pumpkin", so she picked out two, one for herself and one for baby #2.

"I like this one"

"2 Pumpkins!"
We also found some Mommy and Daddy pumpkins

Emma wanted to help with the wheelbarrow

But we went a lot faster when Daddy gave her a ride

There were a lot of other activities at the farm. Emma got to choose two. First, she got to ride on her very first pony

That is a mountain of Pumpkins!
We ended the day with a trip on the Pumpkin Train

We had a great morning in the pumpkin patch!

Our trip to the Midwest: Chicago

I think Chicago is now one of my favorite cities to visit! It was very clean, everyone was friendly, the weather was cool, and there was a ton of things to do with Emma. While Daddy was in his conference, we went to the aquarium, the children's museum, and we did a little shopping on the famous Magnificent Mile.
On Tuesday, we walked to the Aquarium. Unfortunately, they were renovation the part of the aquarium with the whales and penguins, but we did get to see some fun animals

Emma enjoyed the turtles

And this green snake reminded us of the snake in the story "Verdi"

There were also lots of buttons to press

Outside the aquarium was a great view of the city
On our walk back to the hotel, we stopped at the "Big Bean" to play

Emma did not want to pose outside

But she loved seeing herself inside
On Wednesday, we went to the Children's Museum

Emma played with circles,

Boats,

More boats,

A treehouse,

and I think she might have a new career at the car wash
On Thursday, we did a little shopping. we started at the Disney Store, where Emma chose a new friend. Then we headed to "American Girl Place"

Emma and Daisy Duck pose with some of the dolls. Dan was very excited that we only spent $5.00 on Daisy, instead of $100. 00 on one of the dolls.
On Friday, Dan had the afternoon off, so we took an architeture boat tour on the river. Chicago has some beautiful

and unique

buildings

We headed home on Saturday and are now catching up. We are also in the throws of potty training so pray for us (me in particular :)

Our trip to the Midwest: Indianapolis with the Bucks

Dan had a convention in Chicago last week, so we flew in early and got to spend the weekend with the Bucks in Indianapolis. It was great to catch up with our friends from Virginia and meet the newest addition to their family, Jefferson. Emma and their daughter, Annabelle got along really well and played together all weekend long.
On Saturday, we went to a local pumpkin patch. I was really looking forward to some cool fall weather, but mother nature had other plans and it was very warm 85 degree day!

Emma finds a pumpkin

Then she shares it with Annabelle

I don't think this was exactly her plan

But she found another one just as good

The pumpkins were actually planted in with Christmas Trees

Everyone found perfect pumpkins

Emma and the pumpkins (Can you tell she had an oreo for lunch?:)
On Sunday, we went to church, and then that evening we took a nice walk to an excellent Bar-b-que restaurant

Annabelle and Emma in the double stroller
Then we had the honor of celebrating Jefferson's one month birthday with cake!

SInging Happy Birthday!

The birthday boy got a little upset when he heard there was no cake for him
After the girls went to bed, we played games. Another mutual friend from Virginia had sent Jefferson a game called "Buckaroo" so we had to try it out!

Beth and Pete concentrate on their move

Jefferson approved of the game.
It was a great relaxing weekend with friends!

Disneyland:Wednesday: The last day

On Wednesday, we started our day with one more special event... Breakfast with Minnie Mouse and some of her friends. Emma enjoyed Mickey Waffles while some of her friends came by to visit

Hugs from Tigger (With Dale looking on)

Emma got a bop on the nose

Minnie comes by to see how our breakfast is
Then it was off to Tomorrowland for more rides

We took some time to see a few more of Emma's favorite friends

Pooh

and Eeyore
Before we headed to the airport to catch a short flight back home. The weather was a little hot, the parks were a little crowded, but we had a wonderful time seeing everything in a new light in our daughter's young eyes.
