Sunday Fun

We are having been taking advantage of our church's Saturday night services this summer, so Sunday we had a full day to have some fun. It was supposed to be really hot in the valley, so we headed out to the mountains between us and Santa Cruz for some cooler temperatures. We started our day in Big Basin, a state park with great hiking through Redwood Forests. We did a short 3.5 mile hike to a small water.

After our hike, we headed to Santa Cruz for lunch at our favorite design your own pasta restaurant. Emma loves this restaurant because they give her pizza dough to play with. We filled our bellies and headed off to another adventure....

Last Wednesday Emma, Ian and I made an afternoon trip to the San Jose Children's Museum because we heard there was a special visitor...

The traveling exhibit for the summer was Curious George! There were lots of games and activities all about the famous monkey.

Just an Ordinary Monday at the McCloskeys

We started out the day at the swimming pool for Emma's first day of swimming lessons. Daddy is taking the class with her and he seems to be a better teacher than the actual instructor :)

A day at the farm

We spent the morning at a local farm with friends from church. Emma had a great time exploring with her friend, Kaylie.

Ian went to the church nursery for the first time last weekend and he did great! He got his first balloon promoting our church's Saturday night services.

When friends give you lemons....

Some of our friends moved into a new house with a big lemon tree in the backyard. The offered us some lemons and we made some yummy lemonade

Back from Vacation-The Great Wolf Lodge

During our stay in Virginia, we had a great getaway to Williamsburg's Great Wolf Lodge. This is a great resort with a huge indoor water park. Emma and Daddy had a great time playing in the water while Ian was put to sleep by the water park white noise. We had fun going down water slides and hanging out in the wave pool and lazy river.
