Kids Sleep in the darndest places

When walking up the stairs last night, we found this.....

Emma decided that the stairs were a comfier place to sleep than her bed.

Summer Day Fun

Good Morning Everyone! Or as Ian says....

"Hi!"
We are enjoying the lazy days of summer with a lot of park days, trips to the library, and play dates at our house and friends. Emma and Ian are really starting to enjoy playing together...

Ian thinks Emma is quite the comedian

After a good nap and some thirst quenching milk, I filled up the water table for them to play in

They both loved it

We are really enjoying our fun summer days!

Our summer so far

So here is a recap of our month of June!

Emma has entertained Ian with bubbles!

This is what I see when I look down most days! Ian is now taking steps, but he loves to pull up on anyone of anything available

Emma on her last day of preschool! (The day we got back from vacation, she wanted to go back to school!)
Then we headed off to Virginia for the first leg of our vacation! We flew into Virginia on the red eye Thursday night, where Emma and Ian would be spending their vacation; While Dan and I headed here....

early Sunday morning, Dan and I took a flight to San Juan, Puerto Rico to begin a 7 day cruise to the Southern Caribbean
We had some time to walk around Old San Juan before our ship left

Dan with the cannonballs at El Morro fort

We felt right at home when we found Calle San Jose
Then a cruising we went

Our first stop was Saint Thomas

We got up early and had this beautiful beach almost to ourselves!
In the afternoon, we went searching in town for....

Chocolate! One of our old neighbors in Virginia opened up this shop in Saint Thomas and we got to visit with her and sample some chocolate!
On Tuesday, we were in Dominica. We went river tubing and it was a ton of fun! We didn't get any pictures because we don't have much luck with electronics and water, (Dan has lost one camera and one Iphone in water related accidents!)
On Wednesday, we were in Barbados! We were supposed to go caving, but it rained all day, so our tour got canceled. we spent the day on the boat with 3000 other kind of bored people :)
On Thursday, we were in St. Lucia where we headed into the rain forest to....

Zipline!
On Friday, we were in St. Kitts. In the morning, we took a behind the scenes tour of the boat, which was really interesting...
We were rewarded with these treats in our cabin

Then we took a taxi to a really pretty beach in the afternoon

On Saturday, we were in St. Maarten where we did one of our favorite tours. We went on a sailing race on the actual America's Cup boats

The Canadian boat

The boat we were on!

Sails up!

Our crew!

Unfortunately, Dan stepped the wrong way when getting into the bat after hoisting the sails. We got another behind the scenes tour of the boat infirmary where he got a few stitches, an x-ray, and some crutches as souvenirs! Luckily he is on the mend and was able to walk at the US open this weekend!
That ended our week long vacation! We missed Emma and Ian, but they had a really good time with their Nana and B-pa (Thank You again, Mom and Dad!)
When we got home, we have had a few visitors come by to be tortured by our attention starved children....including

Uncle Scott!
Emma is now perfecting the art of playing hide and seek (although she still hides in to same place and can't stop giggling) and the Knock Knock joke (only other 4 year olds think her jokes are funny). She has entertained all our visitors with these :)
As I mentioned before, Dan and his good friend Billy attended the US Open in Pebble beach this weekend. Before they went on Sunday, we headed out to breakfast, where Ian perfected his straw drinking skills!

This boy excels at anything that has to do with food or drink!

Happy Fathers Day, Daddy!
Emma, Ian and I then headed to the local kiddie amusement park, where we enjoyed rides, the playground, and a puppet show!
Emma rode this ride 8 times!

Here she is recruiting one of the little girls to go on with her again!

She would have probably stayed on the ride all day if Ian wasn't ready for a nap!
So that was our June! Hopefully, I will do a better job at taking pictures and sharing over the rest of the summer!

Mad Scientist Birthday Party

Well, once again I am really behind in the blogging world! We have had a busy month with the end of the school year and the beginning of summer! We have already taken one vacation with two more planed in the near future. Before our travels, Emma and I attended a really fun art birthday party that featured a mad scientist!

The Scientist did various experiments that kept the children (and adults) really entertained!

Emma watching the show

The children got to participate, too! Painting with a clear liquid that became colored on paper

Finished product

Mixing up...

green slime

Then he brought out the dry ice...

He added soap and when the children clapped the bubbles...

They disappeared into gas again!
This was one of the most entertaining birthday parties we have attended! We will have to step up our game next year!
